Canada Post workers across the country have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike amid a labour dispute that could disrupt deliveries. Canada Post’s operations will shut down during a national strike.
We understand that this situation may raise concerns about receiving your prescriptions on time, but rest assured, we are prepared and taking proactive steps to ensure your health and medication needs are not disrupted.
Your well-being is our top priority, and we are committed to delivering your prescriptions without delays, regardless of the challenges posed by a postal strike.
What You Need to Know About the Canada Post Strike
All deliveries will experience delays due to the strike activity. Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees will be impacted for items already in the postal network. No new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.
Will This Impact Me
If you receive your Freddie prescription via Canada Post, your prescription delivery will be impacted as a result of the strike. However, we’ve taken steps to ensure your continued care (details below).
Our Commitment to Continuity
For patients who fill their prescription via our partner pharmacy, Affirming Care Pharmacy, we will minimize any potential impact on your prescription deliveries through:
- Working with alternative couriers to ensure your prescriptions are delivered on time. These couriers are ready to step in should Canada Post deliveries be interrupted
- Offering early express delivery and pickup locations to patients in rural locations generally serviced only by Canada Post, or those with indicated Canada Post PO boxes before strike actions begin.
Our Care Team will proactively reach out via phone or email with updates about your prescription delivery. If you have concerns about your delivery, please contact our Freddie Care Team by submitting a request here: Contact Freddie
How You Can Help
-
Complete Lab Testing and Lab Feedback:
Patients are still required to complete lab tests every three months. These check for HIV and STIs – which is important, because not every STI has symptoms – and check your kidney function. -
Track Your Deliveries:
If you were issued a prescription the week of October 28th but have not yet received your prescription, please reach out to our Care Team for support as your package might be held in-transit at a Canada Post depot.
We truly appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. While labor actions like these are beyond our control, we want to reassure you that we are fully prepared to meet your prescription needs. Our team is working tirelessly to ensure your health is never compromised.
Thank you for continuing to trust Freddie with your care!
