Lab Testing & Monitoring

Baseline labs are done prior to starting Apretude:

  • HIV test
  • Viral Hepatitis Screening
  • Syphilis
  • Gonorrhea and chlamydia (urine)
  • Kidney function (Creatinine and GFR)

Rapid HIV+ testing is completed every 2 months at the time of injection.

Follow up lab testing is required every 4 months, just before or at the time of injection. Follow up lab tests include:

  • HIV test
  • Syphilis
  • Kidney function (Creatinine and GFR)
  • Gonorrhea and chlamydia (urine)
    • Rectal and Throat swabs can also be provided upon request 
       

Note that if you receive your injections at a Bayshore Clinic or your local pharmacy, you will need to complete your 4 month follow up lab testing at a public lab with your Freddie-issued lab requisition. 

We will send a new lab requisition to your Freddie Patient Portal when it is time for you to complete your lab testing.
