If you’ve never had a vaccine for hepatitis A and/or B, you may get a message from us. It’s a good idea to get vaccinated because these viruses can be transmitted through sex, and guys into guys and trans women are at higher risk.
If you’ve already had a hepatitis vaccine, you may need a booster. This is because when you get the vaccine, it doesn’t always give lifelong protection. Immunity can wane over time, so you may need another dose to stay protected against hepatitis A and/or B. This will depend on your vaccination history and your lab results, which show our clinicians if you’re still immune.
