Once you have completed the initial questionnaire on the Freddie website, you will be redirected to the Freddie Patient Portal to create your account and book an initial appointment with a Freddie clinician. This option will appear on your screen after you have finished your initial questionnaire.
If you want to wait to book your appointment, you can log into the Freddie patient portal at any time and book your first appointment there. Just click on the “Clinical Appointments” button on the left-hand side of the page.
Before you can start PrEP, you’ll need to go to a lab for some tests. These are HIV and STI tests, along with tests to check your kidney function. This testing is important because it ensures that you are HIV-negative and that taking PrEP is safe for you.
After your initial appointment, your clinician will order these tests and you will receive your lab requisition via the patient portal. When the clinical team has reviewed your results, you can receive your PrEP prescription.

If you’ve had HIV and STI testing within the last month, ask your clinic or GP for a digital copy of these results. You can send these to Freddie after your first appointment, and we can adjust your lab requisition as needed. This is at your clinician’s discretion, so there is a chance you may have to repeat some tests.
