Freddie is excited to now offer additional treatment services to eligible patients!
We’re currently offering the following additional treatments:
- STI prevention (Doxy-PEP)
- Herpes (HSV) treatment
- Hair loss prevention
- Erectile dysfunction treatment
- Premature ejaculation treatment
Please note that only Freddie patients with an active PrEP prescription can receive additional treatment prescriptions. If you decide to stop using Freddie services for your PrEP prescription, we will not be able to continue your prescriptions for additional treatments.
If you have already received a prescription for additional treatments from Freddie and you are in need of a refill, please check out this article
For Doxy-PEP refills, please check out this article
FILLING YOUR PRESCRIPTION
When your lab requisition for your next PrEP refill is sent to your Freddie Patient Portal, you’ll be asked to complete the self-assessment questionnaire. Once the questionnaire is completed, a form to request a new refill for additional treatments will populate in your patient dashboard.
Scroll down to the bottom of your dashboard and click the "Get Started" button to answer a series of medical questions to request your additional treatment prescription.
Once your online intake form has been completed, your information will be added to your chart for our Freddie clinical team to review. If you are eligible and you have already received your PrEP prescription from Freddie, your prescriptions for the additional treatments you requested will be sent out at the same time as your next PrEP prescription refill.
If there is additional information needed prior to issuing a prescription for this medication, your Freddie clinician will reach out to you in a clinical message in your Freddie patient portal to ask a few more questions and to confirm if the medication is a right fit for you.
If you are looking to receive the additional treatment prescription before your next PrEP refill, we ask that you please reach out to our support team to request this so that we may notify your Freddie clinician. If you use our partner pharmacy, Affirming Care Pharmacy to fill your prescriptions, please note that there may be an additional delivery cost since the prescription would not be delivered with your PrEP refill.
Helpful notes:
- Completing the questionnaire does not mean you will receive a prescription right away. Your clinician will issue your additional treatment prescription refill alongside your PrEP refill once your lab work has been completed.
- You will need to complete the online form each time you need a refill on your additional treatment prescriptions
PHARMACY OPTIONS & COST OF MEDICATIONS
Upon completion of the online intake form, you will be presented with a generalized list of prices per medication that you have requested. A prescription for these additional medications would be an out-of-pocket cost as they are not covered by Freddie, however they may be covered under certain private drug benefit plans. If applicable, please check with your insurance to see if these medications are covered. Please note that costs for these medications may vary by pharmacy.
If you are receiving your prescriptions through our partner pharmacy, Affirming Care Pharmacy, they will call you to confirm the cost of the new medication and any additional shipping costs that may apply, prior to arranging for delivery/pickup.
For more information regarding Freddie’s partner pharmacies, please refer to this article
If you are using a non-partner pharmacy, or a local pharmacy of your choice to fill your Freddie prescriptions, you will need to check in with your pharmacy to confirm the cost of the new medication. You will then fill and pick up your medication as per your pharmacy permits. Please note that you may be responsible for any dispensing fees and additional costs as outlined by that specific pharmacy.
