Since Freddie is a virtual care provider, we’re not able to give you a physical copy of your original prescription like an in-person clinic might. This helps prevent confusion or misuse and keeps everything secure and properly documented. When you're at a clinic in person, the doctor can hand you the prescription right after confirming your identity, but things work a bit differently in a virtual setting.
When we prescribe medication, it’s usually sent straight to your pharmacy electronically, following provincial guidelines.
If you'd like a copy for your records, no problem — just ask the pharmacy where your prescription was filled. They can give you a copy of your prescription, but it’ll be marked as a copy and can’t be used to fill your prescription somewhere else unless the original prescription is officially transferred to a new pharmacy.
